Job summary

M&G is seeking an AI Platform Engineer to extend multi‑cloud platform capabilities and embed AI into operations. You will work with Product Owners, Architects and Security teams to deliver secure and scalable platform capabilities across the business.

This hands‑on role covers resilience, observability, governance and measurable outcomes, with a focus on enabling teams to adopt AI safely and effectively.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience building and operating cloud-based platforms and services.
• Strong cloud fundamentals including networking, IAM, security and controls.
• Software engineering or scripting experience in production codebases.
• Experience using infrastructure as code and automated delivery practices.
• Experience developing cloud-native applications, APIs or platforms.
• Experience with logs, metrics, traces and telemetry to improve performance.
• Ability to design with resilience, scalability and operability in mind.
• Proven track record delivering production capabilities and supporting operation.
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical audiences, and collaboration with multiple stakeholders.
• Interest in AI, automation and agentic systems and their value.

Responsibilities

• Platform delivery: design, build and deliver new platform capabilities across a multi-cloud environment.
• AI-driven platform operations: apply AI to improve platform operations and workflows.
• Resilience and service quality: design for reliability and monitorability with appropriate recovery patterns.
• Measurement and value: build reporting and KPIs to show adoption and outcomes.
• Enablement and adoption: design reusable patterns, documentation and self-service capabilities.
• Governance and security: ensure governance, privacy and risk requirements are met for AI-enabled capabilities.
