Job summary

Motion Applied is evolving ATLAS from a telemetry and engineering data platform into an intelligent engineering decision platform. The AI Platform Engineer will lead the development of core AI capabilities, integrating LLMs, embeddings, vector databases, and ML inference across ATLAS products and services.

Qualifications

• Experience building platforms and AI gateways in production.
• Experience building APIs, backend services and platform infrastructure.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
• Hands-on Docker and security-focused architecture expertise.
• Familiarity with MLOps, model onboarding and compute orchestration.
• Proficiency in Python and other languages; Kubernetes knowledge.
• Knowledge of observability and IaC tools.

AI Platform Engineer

ATLAS is evolving from a telemetry and engineering data platform into an intelligent engineering decision platform.

The AI Platform Engineer will lead the development of the foundational AI capabilities required to enable AI-powered workflows, engineering copilots, knowledge discovery, and autonomous agent capabilities across the ATLAS ecosystem.

The role is responsible for designing and implementing the AI platform, integrating Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), knowledge graph technologies, and machine learning inference capabilities into ATLAS products and services.

This role will work closely with Product Management, Architecture, and Engineering teams to transform engineering knowledge into actionable intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate secure, scalable AI platforms and services.

• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of AI platform development, from architecture and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

• Evaluate, integrate, and manage Large Language Models, embeddings, vector databases, and AI infrastructure components.

• Support development of AI-powered copilots, assistants, and autonomous agents.

• Onboard and manage new AI models while optimising performance, cost, reliability, and security.

• Implement monitoring, evaluation, auditability, and safety frameworks for AI systems.

• Collaborate with software engineering teams to integrate AI capabilities into customer-facing products and internal tooling.

• Develop automation solutions that improve engineering productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.

Preferred Skills and Desired Experience

• Experience building platforms, AI gateways
  in production

• Experience building APIs, backend services, and platform infrastructure.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, source control, and infrastructure automation.

• Hands-on work with Docker containers, security-focused architecture, and multi-provider integrations (cloud compute + frontier model providers)

• Familiarity with MLOps, model onboarding, compute orchestration, and infrastructure for large-scale AI usage

• Proficiency in Python and experience with additional languages

• Knowledge of Kubernetes, container orchestration, observability, and infrastructure-as-code tools

• Passion for turning complex engineering problems into simple, reliable, and secure AI-powered outcomes
