Job summary

Xelix is hiring an Analytics Engineer to join our growing BI/Data team. Turn raw data into trusted metrics and self-service analytics for Finance to Product, with AI-native tooling guiding the definitions and quality checks.

You'll own the metrics layer, model data in dbt, and move dashboards to governed models, delivering measurable value in weeks rather than quarters. This is a hybrid role with growth potential.

Qualifications

• Experience as analytics engineer or BI developer building models in dbt on a cloud data warehouse.
• AI-native: daily use of AI coding agents for SQL/dbt models/tests/documentation and verification of outputs.
• Excellent SQL and data modelling including dimensional models and metrics/semantic layers.
• Experience with a BI tool such as Metabase, Omni, Looker or Power BI, and enabling non-technical users.
• Business sense: understands SaaS metrics like ARR, churn and expansion, and can translate questions into data.
• Clear communication and ability to align stakeholders on one definition.

Responsibilities

• Model clean, joined tables in dbt for customers, contracts, usage, product outcomes, support, revenue and cost.
• Own AI-native development: review definitions and ensure quality of AI-generated artifacts.
• Own the metrics layer with defined metrics like ARR, retention and cost to serve within six weeks.
• Migrate reports to governed models and retire duplicate dashboards with owners.
• Enable finance, RevOps, Commercial, Product, Engineering and Services to self-serve analytics.
• Document definitions so both people and AI read them consistently.
