Job summary

Syngenta Crop Protection is seeking a scientifically rigorous AI/ML Technical Expert to advance predictive safety and multimodal biology at Jealott's Hill UK. You will translate priority safety questions into robust modelling strategies and scalable analytical capabilities across biology, computational science, and AI.

Qualifications

• PhD (or equivalent) in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Systems Biology, Computational Toxicology, Data Science or related disciplines.
• Demonstrated experience integrating diverse biological data types to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets.
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience with modern data science frameworks.
• Experience building reproducible computational workflows and scientific software tools.

Responsibilities

• Partner with toxicologists, biologists, chemists, bioinformaticians, and data scientists to define priority questions for predictive safety.
• Lead development and evaluation of advanced AI/ML methodologies for strategic safety questions.
• Apply ML, AI, statistics, and knowledge-driven approaches to extract biological signals from large datasets.
• Translate modelling outputs into actionable scientific insights for project decisions.
• Evaluate emerging AI and computational-biology methods for practical value.
• Communicate complex computational findings clearly to multidisciplinary audiences.
