4square Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced AI Governance / Data Protection Consultant to join a growing team supporting a diverse client portfolio across sectors.

This hybrid role blends hands-on privacy operations with client-facing consultancy, focusing on UK GDPR, DPIAs, data mapping, and governance to help organisations navigate complex privacy challenges.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in data protection/privacy roles.
• Strong knowledge of UK GDPR and international frameworks.
• Hands-on with DPIAs, LIAs, RoPAs.
• Data mapping & asset registers.
• Supplier risk assessments & contracts.
• Incident/breach management & DSARs.
• IAPP certification (CIPP/E, CIPM or equivalent).
• Comfortable with clients and senior stakeholders.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Pragmatic, solutions-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Acting as a trusted advisor and key contact for clients on data protection matters.
• Deliver privacy programmes, including DPIAs, LIAs, RoPAs, and data mapping.
• Identify and manage data protection and cyber risks.
• Provide pragmatic advice on UK GDPR and international privacy regulations.
• Support data breach response and regulatory compliance (ICO engagement).
• Develop and implement policies, governance frameworks, and privacy controls.
• Deliver training and awareness sessions to stakeholders.
• Build relationships with senior leadership.

What you'll be doing

• Acting as a trusted advisor and key point of contact for clients on all data protection matters
• Supporting and delivering privacy programmes, including DPIAs, LIAs, RoPAs, and data mapping
• Identifying and managing data protection and cyber risks
• Providing pragmatic advice on UK GDPR and international privacy regulations
• Supporting data breach response and regulatory compliance (including ICO engagement)
