Job summary

GSMA is seeking a researcher and technical generalist to lead analytical pieces on AI and emerging technologies for development. You will identify gaps, risks and opportunities for impactful AI innovations in resource-constrained settings, working with startups, funders and operators.

Join a diverse team focused on responsible AI, digital inclusion and climate resilience, shaping policy outputs and scalable solutions across LMICs.

Qualifications

Strong foundation in AI, ML and related technologies applied to development contexts.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive global-level research to identify best practices and opportunities for M4D to support innovators leveraging AI and emerging technologies for LMICs.
Define scope and methodology of research projects aligning with funders’ objectives.
Produce high-quality outputs including policy reports, briefs, slide decks, blogs and case studies.
Monitor and analyse trends in emerging technologies for development to identify scalable opportunities.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure coherence across research agendas and dissemination strategies.
Assess technical and commercial architecture of AI-enabled solutions to identify gaps for impact-driven innovation.
