Job summary

Spectrum IT Recruitment is seeking an experienced Technical Lead Full Stack Developer to Southampton-based, onsite. You will lead a team of AI-focused engineers, shaping architecture and driving delivery of high-quality software.

The role blends hands-on coding with leadership, mentoring, and establishing an AI-first engineering culture. You’ll influence frontend, backend, cloud and data decisions, adopting AI-assisted tooling to enhance productivity and quality.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience in full stack development across frontend, backend and infra.
• Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring developers.
• Solid knowledge of modern frontend frameworks (React/Vue/Svelte).
• Backend exp with TypeScript/Node.js, Python, Go, C# or similar.
• Experience with relational DBs, REST/GraphQL APIs and cloud infra.
• Understanding of CI/CD, containers and IaC.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical leadership to a team of full stack engineers, setting technical direction and best practices.
• Lead, mentor and support engineers, encouraging growth and collaboration.
• Foster an AI-first engineering mindset in development workflows.
• Own technical delivery, ensuring scalable, secure and maintainable solutions.
• Guide architectural and design decisions across frontend, backend, cloud and data.
• Break down complex technical challenges and compare alternative solutions.
• Lead technical discussions, code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Translate business requirements into effective technical solutions with stakeholders.
• Balance hands-on development with team leadership and delivery.
