Job summary

La Fosse is seeking a VP Engineering to drive an AI-first transformation of a ~30-person engineering team, backed by the executive team and with an M&A pipeline to scale. You will establish foundations, standards and scalable patterns, enabling rapid AI-enabled delivery across products.

You will lead a product-led engineering function, restructure teams for long-term value, and report to the CEO and board. Remote UK work with occasional London/Birmingham office visits is offered.

Qualifications

• Hands-on engineering leadership with 20+ engineers previously managed.
• Current AI experience and hands-on tooling knowledge.
• Experience moving teams to AI-assisted or agentic development.
• A track record of transforming how a function operates in a product-led environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the move to AI-first engineering across the full lifecycle.
• Set foundations, standards, and reusable scaffolding to accelerate AI tooling.
• Restructure to long-lived, product-aligned teams.
• Define modern architecture directions and governance with minimal overhead.
• Build leadership across the function and align with the CEO and board.
• Measure engineering performance (DORA, cycle time, release time).
• Shape digitisation of the client experience end-to-end.
• Integrate and scale teams joining through acquisitions.
• Represent engineering voice at executive level.
