Job summary

WeDoTech in the United Kingdom is seeking an AI Economics & FinOps Lead to own AI cost management across a large, complex technology estate. You will work with engineering, AI and business stakeholders to understand consumption, cost drivers and business value.

This is a strategic role combining FinOps with AI economics, building metrics, dashboards and governance. Hybrid Croydon location with office days, a strong incentive package and clear path to influence executive decisions.

Qualifications

• Strong FinOps experience in cloud cost management.
• Practical exposure to AI/ML or GenAI cost management.
• Understanding token-based consumption and pricing models.
• Experience turning data into cost optimisations.
• Experience with Azure and multi-cloud environments.
• Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of AI economics and FinOps activity across a complex technology environment.
• Analyse AI, token and cloud consumption to understand spend and value.
• Work with engineering teams to investigate unusual consumption patterns and opportunities.
• Help teams optimise AI usage through model selection, prompt optimisation, caching, context management and routing.
• Develop metrics around AI unit economics and token efficiency.
• Support forecasting and budgeting, flag overspend early.
• Compare AI models, providers and usage patterns.
• Improve cost allocation, tagging, showback and chargeback.
• Drive traditional FinOps optimisation: rightsizing, commitment utilization, storage, scaling.
• Build reporting dashboards translating data into insights for teams and leadership.
• Be thought leader for AI economics and FinOps, educating teams.
