Saragossa is recruiting an AI Engineer for a high-velocity hedge fund role in London. You will shape how AI is built and evaluated across a fast-moving multi-asset fund with no legacy systems to maintain.

You will define evaluation frameworks, drive model comparisons and monitor AI toolchains in a greenfield environment. The position emphasizes hands-on work with LLM-as-judge approaches, ground-truth capture, and retrieval metrics, with a focus on measurable AI impact and cost-aware tooling

AI Engineer - Hedge Fund - Up to £130k base

You are building something from scratch, inside a fund that moves fast and answers to no one but itself.

This is a greenfield AI project. There is no legacy system to maintain, no inherited mess to unpick. You are coming in at the start and shaping how AI gets built and evaluated across the fund. That is a rare thing.

The fund is multi-asset, technology first. When something needs to happen, it happens.

Day to day you are building and applying evaluation frameworks for RAG and agentic systems. You are working with tool calling, output quality, ground-truth capture and monitoring. You are running model comparisons, internal benchmarks, and making cost-value calls on AI tooling. You are hands-on with LLM-as-judge approaches, human-labelled datasets, retrieval metrics and agent trace analysis. And when the work calls for it, you contribute beyond evaluation too.

The stack is modern, the pace is real, and you are getting genuine exposure to how a data-driven hedge fund operates from the inside.

On the practical side, you have solid hands-on experience evaluating LLM systems and you know your way around agentic architectures. You understand what good looks like when it comes to building reliable, measurable AI pipelines.

The salary goes up to £130k base, with a bonus payout in the region of 20 to 30 percent.
