AI Engineer - Hedge Fund - Up to £130k Base
You are building AI from scratch, inside a hedge fund that moves fast and answers to no one but itself.
This is a greenfield AI project. No legacy systems to unpick, no inherited mess to work around. You are designing and building LLM applications from the ground up, working across retrieval, agents, tool use and context engineering in a production environment that actually matters.
It is also a tech-first, data-driven, multi-asset fund. That means you are working with a modern stack, alongside people who understand why technology decisions matter. The team is small, the environment is lean, and the work is genuinely interesting.
You will be serving open-weight LLMs in production, fine-tuning with LoRA and QLoRA, and thinking seriously about GPU inference, batching, KV cache and the real trade-offs between latency, throughput and cost. Observability and usage telemetry are part of how you work, not an afterthought.
You are strong in Python and SQL. You are comfortable with APIs, containers, CI/CD, cloud and Kubernetes. You understand LLM economics, token pricing, model trade-offs, caching and the cost of long context.
You are four days a week in London Victoria. The base goes up to £130k, with a potential 20 to 30 percent uplift on top of that.
This is the kind of role that puts you properly inside a hedge fund environment, with the scope to shape something from nothing.
