Job summary

Totum Partners is seeking an experienced AI Engineer / Legal Technologist to join a leading international law firm on an initial 6-month contract in London. The role focuses on hands-on delivery of AI and Generative AI solutions within a legal environment, collaborating with lawyers and senior stakeholders to identify optimizations and deploy practical technology tools from day one.

We are seeking an experienced AI Engineer / Legal Technologist to join a leading international law firm on an initial 6-month contract.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong hands-on experience in legal technology and AI to support the continued development and adoption of AI solutions across the business.

The successful candidate will be confident working autonomously, engaging directly with lawyers and stakeholders, and delivering practical technology solutions from day one. This is not a role for someone who needs significant guidance or hand-holding.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure and implement AI and Generative AI solutions within a legal environment.
• Work closely with lawyers to understand existing processes and identify opportunities for AI-driven improvements.
• Support the adoption and integration of AI tools, helping colleagues maximise their value.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation, workflow and digital solutions.
• Provide practical technical expertise and guidance on emerging AI technologies.
• Manage projects and deliver solutions independently, working with minimal supervision.
• Previous experience working within a law firm or legal professional services environment.
