Job summary

SR2 REC Ltd in Cardiff is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to shape and deliver advanced AI capabilities. This hands-on role focuses on building AI-powered features and making technical decisions with the existing engineering team.

The position involves working 2–3 days onsite per week, with Inside IR35 terms and a daily rate up to £700. You will tackle production-grade AI solutions and ensure reliability and security in regulated environments.

Qualifications

• Strong track record of building and deploying production AI/LLM applications.
• Hands-on experience with AWS Bedrock and broader AWS services.
• Excellent software engineering skills with the ability to lead technically while remaining hands-on.
• Experience with RAG, document processing, information extraction or LLM evaluation.
• Understanding of security, reliability and delivering AI in regulated environments.

Senior AI Engineer | Up to £700/day | Inside IR35

Location: Cardiff, 2-3 days onsite per week

We're working with a technology business looking for a Senior AI Engineer to help shape and deliver the next stage of its AI capabilities.

This is a hands-on role where you'll be building AI-powered features, making technical decisions and working closely with an existing engineering team to take solutions from concept through to production.

What we're looking for:
