Job summary

Harrington Starr is seeking a Security Engineer to join its AI & Emerging Technologies practice in London. The role blends security engineering with shaping secure adoption of AI platforms, applications and innovative tech across the business.

You will work with AI, technology and business teams to embed security controls throughout the lifecycle, influence architecture decisions and define security standards for AI initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in cyber security, security engineering or a similar role.
• Strong experience delivering security guidance across enterprise platforms, clouds, applications and projects.
• Solid understanding of security architecture and secure-by-design principles.
• Knowledge of AI technologies, LLMs and related security risks.
• Experience performing threat modelling, risk assessments and security reviews.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure and SaaS environments; modern cloud tech.

Responsibilities

• Provide security assessments and guidance for AI platforms, tools and emerging technologies.
• Review AI-enabled applications, integrations, workflows and internal solutions.
• Partner with technology and business teams to embed security best practices in initiatives.
• Support development of security guardrails, governance frameworks and secure design standards for AI adoption.
• Conduct threat modelling and security design reviews for new applications and services.
• Assess and mitigate risks related to data exposure, AI misuse, prompt injection, 3rd-party dependencies, access control and system integrations.
• Advise on secure architecture principles including IAM, data protection, monitoring, encryption, resilience and secure configuration.
• Produce security requirements, risk assessments, architectural recommendations and remediation plans.
• Monitor emerging threats and industry developments relating to AI and cloud technologies.
