Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in Neuroscience, Translational Medicine, Pharmacology, Cellular/Molecular Biology, or related field.
• Deep mechanistic understanding of neurodegenerative disease biology and pathophysiology.
• Expert practical knowledge of translational models (in vitro, ex vivo, in vivo) and patient-derived systems.
• Proven track record in advancing therapeutic hypotheses through target validation and profiling.
• Experience contracting, designing, and managing external research studies with CROs/academics.
• Experience collaborating with bioinformatics/cheminformatics/computational biology teams.
• Highly collaborative, agile, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Therapeutic Area Strategy & Target Discovery: define neurodegeneration research priorities and evaluate indications and mechanisms.
• Translational Biology & Experimental Execution: develop disease-relevant hypotheses and screening cascades from Target ID to Lead.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration with AI/ML Teams: work with ML and biology teams to design assays and benchmark AI-designed molecules.
• Scientific Leadership & External Partnerships: lead scientific strategy, manage timelines, and oversee CROs and collaborators.
