Job summary

Certara seeks an ambitious test automation engineer to own the automation strategy for our web products. You will build and own automation frameworks, drive AI-assisted testing, and raise testing quality across the team in a hands-on role.

You will work on web UI, API, and cloud-service testing using Playwright with C#, Azure, and AI tooling to accelerate design and coverage, while mentoring engineers and aligning with CI/CD practices. This role is based in the UK and involves greenfield work.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on test automation: building frameworks and utilities.
• Strong Playwright automation for React frontends.
• Strong API test automation (REST) with reusable clients.
• Fluency with AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Claude).
• Willingness to mentor peers and raise quality.
• Experience improving CI and test reliability.

Responsibilities

• Own the automation architecture for web UI, API and cloud testing.
• Lead the use of AI in test automation.
• Drive best practice and coach engineers.
• Design and maintain robust automated suites.
• Improve CI execution, reporting and diagnostics.
• Integrate testing into CI/CD with quality gates.
• Work with engineers to reproduce issues and improve quality.
• Contribute to Testing Chapter: standards and direction.
