Job summary

Freshfields invites a visionary, hands-on Head of Performance to lead a pioneering AI-first practice across its global talent ecosystem. You will shape the strategy, drive continuous performance enablement, and embed responsible AI governance within the performance lifecycle, including objective-setting, feedback, calibration, and development conversations.

You will report to Performance and Reward and lead a team in London and Manchester, crafting a roadmap that aligns people decisions with

Qualifications

Proven leadership of performance management or talent development in a global org.
Hands-on familiarity with generative AI/LLM tools and platforms.
Ability to turn bold AI-enabled vision into concrete roadmaps and measurable changes.
Experience leading teams across multiple offices and locations.
Strong communication and stakeholder management for large-scale change.
Understanding of fairness, equity, and data privacy in AI.
Knowledge of HRIS systems (Workday preferred) and collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

Define and own multi-year performance strategy and roadmap.
Lead AI-first approach across the performance cycle and governance.
Partner with Reward, Talent, Learning, HRIS, and HRBPs to align outcomes with compensation and development.
Lead and develop a small team across London and Manchester with a culture of learning.
Establish governance and data privacy safeguards in collaboration with Legal and IT.
Own performance technology as a senior business owner and drive system evolution.
