The Faculty of Medicine's Genomic Informatics Group seeks a fixed-term, full-time senior research fellow in AI for genomic diagnostics. The role leads translational work on autoimmune disease, extracting clinical findings from EHRs with open-source language models and linking them to genomic data.

You will develop robust LLM-based pipelines on HPC platforms, publish first-author work, manage early career researchers and collaborate with national and international colleagues across genomics,

Formación

• PhD in health informatics, bioinformatics, genomics, computational biology, data science or a closely related field.
• Experience publishing first-author research.
• Experience with EHR data extraction and genomics workflows in research/diagnostic settings.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing demands.

Responsabilidades

• Lead a project extracting structured clinical findings from EHRs using open-source LLMs and harmonising them to clinical ontologies.
• Drive translational research integrating clinical and genomic data for personalised diagnostics.
• Develop and maintain robust LLM-based pipelines on HPC platforms.
• Produce high-quality research outputs in genomic diagnostics.
• Contribute to education and training in genomic data science.
• Manage early career researchers in planning and delivering project objectives.
• Collaborate with national and international colleagues across genomics, medicine, data science, software engineering.
