Job summary

Aviva Norwich is seeking an AI Developer to join our GenAI delivery team. You’ll deliver, deploy, and monitor AI and GenAI solutions that support our Personal Lines and Transformation teams, transforming operations with data-driven insights.

You’ll work with FastAPI backend, Azure GenAI, and DevOps pipelines, building scalable web applications and applying prompt engineering and RAG for robust AI systems. You will collaborate across teams, helping shape the future of intelligent solutions at

Qualifications

• Experience with GenAI practices including prompt engineering and RAG on Azure.
• Ability to develop and deploy web-based applications using FastAPI and APIs.
• Knowledge of containerisation and deployment through DevOps pipelines.

Salary: National circa £37,000

You’ll develop innovative GenAI applications aligned with our strategy – delivering insights that will transform how we operate today.

Skills and experience we’re looking for

• Interested in or already working with the latest GenAI practices, including prompt engineering and RAG systems on Azure, with an awareness of emerging technologies such as Agentic AI.
• Proactive nature and keen problem solver, we want to be the driving force of innovation within our department and see these as key behaviours that sit behind this.
• Ability to turn data into clear, actionable insights that drive informed, data‑led decisions.
• Have software engineering skills such as developing and deploying web-based applications using frameworks such as FastAPI, backend APIs, scalable architecture design. And knowledgeable about containerisation and deployment through DevOps pipelines.
• Collaborates effectively within a team, openly sharing ideas, perspectives, and constructive opinions to drive better technical and product outcomes

• Starting salary circa £37,000 for National based (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
