Aviva’s Applied AI Engineering team is building production AI systems in a regulated, customer-first environment.

This Applied AI Engineer role is ideal for someone early in their AI engineering career or taking a first specialist step, with solid Python foundations and a desire to grow in governance, evaluation and reliable AI delivery at scale.

• A learning mindset, willing to develop skills in AI evaluation, quality, and responsible AI practices over time.
• An understanding that AI systems impact real customers and must be built with care, transparency, and accountability.

Applied AI Engineer

Location : Bristol, Birmingham, Norwich, York, Leatherhead, Leeds, Sheffield, Perth or Glasgow

Salary : Circa 55K

This is a great job for someone who:

Is early in their applied AI engineering career or ready to take a first specialist step into building production AI systems.

You may already have solid Python engineering foundations and are excited to apply them to real-world AI problems, learning how AI is designed, evaluated, governed, and operated safely in a regulated environment.

This role would suit someone who enjoys hands-on engineering, is curious about how AI works in practice, and wants to grow their technical judgement alongside more experienced engineers.
