Job summary

Elevate is seeking an experienced Data Privacy Lawyer for a 6-month contract to provide legal advice on privacy and data protection across UK and EU matters. You will support AI-driven product developments and collaborate with commercial, product, and engineering teams to manage privacy risks.

The role requires UK-qualified solicitor status, strong data protection expertise, and experience with technology-focused firms or in-house tech teams.

Qualifications

• UK-qualified solicitor or equivalent
• Strong experience in data protection and privacy law
• Experience in-house or within a technology-focused law firm
• Strong knowledge of UK GDPR and EU data protection principles
• Experience advising technology, SaaS, AI or digital businesses
• Exposure to AI-related privacy or data governance matters desirable
• Commercially minded and able to work in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Provide practical legal advice on UK and EU data protection and privacy matters.
• Advise on GDPR compliance, DPAs, international data transfers and data-sharing arrangements.
• Support privacy considerations relating to AI products, technologies and data use.
• Draft and review privacy notices, DPAs, data processing terms and other privacy documentation.
• Advise commercial, product, engineering and business teams on privacy risks and requirements.
• Support the development and implementation of privacy policies, processes and governance frameworks.
• Monitor regulatory developments relating to AI, data protection and emerging technology.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and external advisers as required.
