Elevate is seeking an experienced Data Privacy Lawyer for a 6-month contract to provide practical guidance on UK and EU data protection matters. You will support DPIAs, international data transfers, and privacy documentation while advising cross-functional teams in a fast-paced AI-enabled tech environment.

The role requires UK-qualified solicitor status with strong data protection experience, ideally in-house or at a technology-focused firm.

Qualifications

UK-qualified solicitor or equivalent
Strong data protection and privacy law experience, ideally in-house or within a tech-focused firm
Strong knowledge of UK GDPR and EU data protection principles
Experience advising technology, SaaS, AI or digital businesses
Exposure to AI-related privacy or data governance matters desirable
Commercially minded, pragmatic and able to work in a fast-paced environment
Able to work independently and engage with senior stakeholders

Responsibilities

Provide practical legal advice on UK and EU data protection and privacy matters
Advise on GDPR compliance, DPIAs, international data transfers and data-sharing arrangements
Support privacy considerations relating to AI products and data use
Draft and review privacy notices, DPAs, data processing terms and other privacy documentation
Advise commercial, product, engineering and business teams on privacy risks and requirements
Support development and implementation of privacy policies, processes and governance frameworks
Monitor regulatory developments relating to AI, data protection and emerging technology
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external advisers as needed
