Job summary

Elevate is seeking an experienced Data Privacy Lawyer for a 6 month contract to provide legal guidance on UK/EU data protection and privacy matters, including GDPR compliance, DPAs, transfers, and data governance for AI-driven products.

The role requires UK-qualified solicitor status and strong privacy law experience in technology environments, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and work independently.

Qualifications

• Qualified UK solicitor or equivalent legal qualification.
• Extensive data protection and privacy law experience, ideally in-house or tech-focused law firm.
• Strong knowledge of UK GDPR and EU data protection principles.
• Experience advising technology, SaaS, AI or digital businesses.
• Ability to work independently and engage with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical legal advice on UK and EU data protection and privacy matters.
• Advise on GDPR compliance, DPAs, international data transfers and data-sharing arrangements.
• Support privacy considerations relating to AI products, technologies and data use.
• Draft and review privacy notices, DPAs, data processing terms and other privacy documentation.
• Advise commercial, product, engineering and business teams on privacy risks and requirements.
• Support the development and implementation of privacy policies, processes and governance frameworks.
• Monitor regulatory developments relating to AI, data protection and emerging technology.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and external advisers as required.
