Job summary

Integrated Fire Safety Systems Ltd, a UK-based fire protection contractor, seeks a Level 3 Apprentice to drive AI-enabled communications and digital transformation for the MD. You will blend executive support with strategic growth initiatives in fire protection services.

You will learn to implement organizational digital transformation, data security, and AI prompt engineering, applying skills to our operations and client engagements.

Qualifications

• 3 GCSEs (4+ in any subject).
• GCSE Maths and English (3+).
• Must not hold a higher level qualification in a similar subject.

Responsibilities

• AI-Driven inbox management prioritising technical queries (gas suppression/water mist).
• Intelligent drafting reflecting MD's tone with UK standards & contract law.
• Workflow distribution to avoid aged or debtor communications.
• Market mining to identify new UK clients in construction/FM.
• Drive profitability by targeting fire sprinkler and gas suppression products.
• CRM database enrichment using built-in AI.
• Regulatory monitoring of UK legislation & JCT contract law.

Job description

Integrated Fire Safety Systems Ltd is a UK-based fire protection contractor that specialises in the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of integrated fire safety systems.

About the role:

This role is a hybrid of executive support and digital transformation. You will be responsible for deploying AI tools to manage complex technical correspondence and identify high-margin business opportunities. As a Level 3 Apprentice, you will spend 20% of your time in off-the-job training, learning how to implement organizational digital transformation, data security, and AI prompt engineering, which you will then apply directly to our fire safety operations.

Responsibilities:

AI-Driven communication management:

• Inbox architecture: Use AI to filter, tag, and organize the MD's emails, ensuring that technical queries regarding gas suppression or water mist systems are prioritized

• Intelligent drafting: Draft responses that reflect the MD's professional tone, ensuring all technical references (such as the relevant British Standards and contract law) are accurate and contextually appropriate

• Workflow distribution: Efficiently route enquiries to the correct internal teams, ensuring no "aged" enquiries or debtor communications are missed

Strategic business growth:

• Market mining: Utilize AI prospecting tools to identify new clients within the UK construction and FM sectors who require specialist fire protection

• Profitability targeting: Focus outreach efforts on our most profitable product lines, specifically driving new business for fire sprinkler and gas suppression systems

• Database enrichment: Maintain and grow the CRM service base, ensuring we are capturing the full lifecycle value of every contractor and contact in our network utilising the in-built AI functionality

Compliance & efficiency:

• Regulatory monitoring: Assist in tracking changes to UK legislation and JCT contract law to ensure outgoing communications remain compliant

• Process automation: Identify repetitive administrative tasks that can be automated using AI to free up the MD's time for high-level decision-making

You will need the following skills:

• Understanding of: Product design & CAD

• Interest in: Construction and project works

• Tech-forward mindset: You should be an early adopter of AI tools (like Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude, or automation platforms) and eager to explore how they can be applied to a specialist engineering business

• Analytical thinking: You can look at a data set or a client list and logically determine where the highest value lies

• Interest in engineering: A natural curiosity about how things work will help you excel

Entry requirements:

• 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject.

• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above).

• Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in a similar subject.

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
