Job Description
Our client, one of the UK’s oldest and most respected law firms, are hiring! With over 150 years of history, our client are a "Top 200" Law Firm and a leading provider of wealth management services, operating across Lincolnshire and the Midlands. Their highly regarded Agricultural Team is ranked in the Legal 500, and due to continued success, are now looking for a dedicated lawyer to help them grow this vital area of the business.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within our clients established Agricultural Law team, handling a broad caseload and contributing to the firm’s strategic growth in this specialist area.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and develop an existing caseload of agricultural matters
Advise on Farm Business Tenancies and Agricultural Holdings Act Tenancies
Handle farm and rural property acquisitions and disposals
Liaise with clients and agents
Draft and negotiate easements and transfers for utility companies
Support our Renewables Team with agricultural property advice.
Prepare auction packs and manage exchange, completion, and post-completion work (e.g. SDLT, Land Registry, Companies House filings)
Promote the firm’s agricultural services in line with our Marketing Policy
We welcome applications from qualified solicitors, legal executives, or experienced fee earners with a passion for agricultural law.
Essential:
Genuine interest in and enthusiasm for agricultural property law
Previous experience in residential, commercial, or agricultural property
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Organised, proactive, and confident in managing own workload
IT proficient, with solid experience in Microsoft Office
Desirable:
Familiarity with case management systems, particularly Visual Files or SOS Connect
Understanding of Solicitors’ Accounts Rules and Money Laundering Regulations
Business development or marketing experience within the legal sector
Public speaking or presentation experience
