Job summary

NHS Blood and Transplant is recruiting a System Test Engineer to join our IT testing team in Bristol/Filton. You will deliver thorough manual and automated tests for IT applications using TestRail and Selenium within an Agile SDLC.

The role requires flexibility for occasional travel across the NHSBT network and potential overnight stays. You will write test scripts, maintain test data, and produce test logs and coverage reports, ensuring the quality and compliance of testing activities in a

Qualifications

• Direct experience as system test engineer or equivalent.
• Experience writing test scripts, creating test data, managing defects, identifying root causes.
• Expert knowledge in black box and white box testing.
• Knowledge of test management, estimation, monitoring and control.
• Knowledge of GMP/GAMP/GDP in NHSBT environment.
• Agile/Lean software development experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe and effective delivery of IT-enabled services through testing.
• Develop and improve testing processes, provide expertise in testing strategy.
• Ensure testing adheres to good practice standards and quality.
• Write and maintain test scripts, cases and logs with high accuracy.
• Carry out testing and produce test results/coverage; log defects and communicate outcomes.
• Analyse test scripts and prepare testing data.
• Maintain understanding of lifecycle standards and identify improvements.
