Job summary

CGI Group Inc. in the United Kingdom is seeking a hands-on AI engineer to partner with clients and CGI teams to identify high-value opportunities for agentic AI and translate them into prototypes and production-ready solutions.

You'll own discovery, pre-sales, rapid prototyping, and deployment, developing expertise in OpenAI Codex while collaborating with specialists across architecture, security, cloud, and governance.

Qualifications

• Hands-on AI engineering with Codex/Agents tools.
• Agentic context engineering, orchestration, guardrails knowledge.
• Broad front-end/backend/ APIs/ cloud understanding.
• Proven ability to move from prototyping to deployment.
• Experience working with clients in pre-sales/solution delivery.
• Clear and concise communication to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfort with ambiguity and taking ownership of outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Discover & Shape - Embed with clients to identify high-value AI opportunities.
• Prototype & Validate - Build MVPs to test ideas against measurable workflows.
• Design & Deploy – Build agentic AI systems securely integrated with client infra.
• Engineer & Integrate – Develop UIs, backend services, APIs, data & cloud integrations.
• Optimise & Govern – Implement guardrails and human oversight.
• Innovate with Codex – Develop expertise in OpenAI Codex for client workflows.
• Scale & Reuse – Create repeatable agentic patterns and assets.
• Consult & Influence – Deliver demos and contribute to bids/tenders.
• Productionise & Improve – Turn concepts into secure, scalable production solutions.
