Qualifications

Job Title:

Age Group Coaching Staff

(Foundation Phase & Youth Development Phase)

Location:

Huish Park Stadium, Yeovil Town FC

Reports to:

Academy Manager / Phase Lead Coach

Contract Type:

Part-Time (2x Evenings and Saturdays)

Option for additional hours (Holiday Camps, Talent ID sessions).

Purpose of the Role:

To support the holistic development of young players across the Academy by delivering high-quality, age-appropriate coaching sessions in line with the Academy’s Philosophy, Vision, and Coaching Programme.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, deliver, and review coaching sessions in line with the Academy’s training syllabus and individual player development plans.

• Lead your assigned age group on matchdays, preparing players appropriately for games through training and match preparation.

• Create a positive and challenging environment that promotes learning, development, and enjoyment.

• Conduct regular player evaluations and contribute to Player Performance Reviews.

• Work closely with other Academy staff to support players’ technical, tactical, physical, psychological, and social development.

• Communicate effectively with players and lead staff, maintaining a professional and supportive relationship.

• Attend all Academy CPD events and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

• Ensure all sessions, matches, and communications are recorded appropriately on the Academy’s management system.

• Adhere to all safeguarding, health & safety, and welfare regulations and policies.

• FA Emergency Aid and Safeguarding Children certification (in date)

• Enhanced DBS Certificate (or willing to obtain one through the Club)

• Previous experience coaching within an Academy or elite youth environment

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• Passion for developing young footballers and understanding of long-term player development principles

• Ability to work evenings and Saturday mornings.

• UEFA B Licence (or actively working towards)

• Experience coaching across multiple age groups (U9–U18)

Hours of Work:

• Two training evenings per week (approx. 1.5 hours per session)

• Weekend matchday (typically Saturday mornings)

• Occasional tournaments, residential trips, and club events

Coaching fees:

• Competitive hourly/session rate (dependent on qualifications and experience)

Additional Information:

• The role will require travel to away fixtures and tournaments.

• Continued support for further coaching qualifications and CPD opportunities will be available.

• Kit and equipment provided.

• Subject to a successful DBS check & vetting process.
