Job summary

Broomhill Infant School in Bristol is seeking an enthusiastic Afterschool and Holiday Club Practitioner to join a caring team. The role focuses on providing a safe, inclusive environment with a range of activities, and acting as Club Leader in the Leader's absence.

You will supervise staff, ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and maintain records, with opportunities to lead during holidays and term-time sessions; experience with EYFS/KS1 and strong teamwork will help you support children

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children in the EYFS and/or KS1.
• Current Paediatric First Aid certification or willingness to complete it.
• Safeguarding and child-protection training, or willingness to undertake before starting.

Responsibilities

• Support the daily running of the Afterschool and Holiday Club.
• Provide engaging, age-appropriate activities linked to children’s interests.
• Create a warm, welcoming and nurturing environment.
• Promote positive relationships and children’s emotional wellbeing.
• Support children with SEND and other care needs as required.
• Maintain appropriate supervision at all times and follow safeguarding procedures.
• Maintain accurate registers, accident records and collection information.
• Communicate professionally with children, parents and staff.
• Assist with setting up, tidying and maintaining a safe environment.
• Occasionally act as Club Leader in their absence and oversee staff deployment.
