Job summary

Acorn by Synergie is seeking a part-time Caretaker for a temporary contract at a primary school in Manchester. The role involves maintaining school premises and supporting a professional team.

Hours are 20 per week, 1.30pm-5.30pm, Monday to Friday, with an enhanced DBS certificate required. The position offers weekly pay, accrued holiday entitlement, pension contributions, access to the Acorn Rewards Scheme, and an immediate start is available.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning functions and duties to a high standard.
• Current enhanced DBS certificate is essential.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Flexibility to undertake other duties contributing to service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Locking of the site at the end of the day and ensuring security at all times.
• Check the fire alarm and conduct a Health & Safety walk.
• Update records on a computer.
• Undertake cleaning duties to maintain high internal and external standards, supporting the existing cleaning team.
• Perform general maintenance routines, including painting.
• Assemble and move furniture as required.
• Care for equipment, materials and storage areas used in cleaning.
• Provide efficient removal, storage and waste disposal services.
• Identify and report building or equipment faults promptly.
• Prepare rooms for use, including functions and events, and clear rooms afterwards.
• Participate in required training.
• Complete all duties in accordance with Health & Safety regulations, policies and safe systems of work.
