Job summary

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for a Caretaker to work on a temporary, part-time basis at a Manchester primary school. The role is 20 hours per week, 1.30pm–5.30pm, Monday to Friday, with DBS required.

Key duties include locking the site, checking the fire alarm, cleaning, minor maintenance and room setup for events. Weekly pay, pension contributions and access to the Acorn Rewards Scheme are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning functions to a high standard.
• Ability to follow simple instructions accurately.
• Willingness to undertake training and adapt to site procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lock the site at the end of the day and ensure security.
• Check the fire alarm and conduct a Health & Safety walk.
• Update records on a computer and manage cleaning duties.
• Carry out general maintenance tasks, including painting and furniture moves.
• Prepare rooms for events and clear rooms after use.

Key Duties

• Locking of the site at the end of the day and ensuring security at all times.
• Check the fire alarm and conduct a Health & Safety walk.
• Update records on a computer.
• Undertake cleaning duties to maintain high internal and external standards, supporting the existing cleaning team.
• Perform general maintenance routines, including painting.
• Assemble and move furniture as required.
• Care for equipment, materials and storage areas used in cleaning.
• Provide efficient removal, storage and waste disposal services.
• Identify and report building or equipment faults promptly.
• Prepare rooms for use, including functions and events, and clear rooms afterwards.
• Participate in required training.
• Complete all duties in accordance with Health & Safety regulations, policies and safe systems of work.
