Job summary

KOOSA Kids is seeking an After School Club Assistant for King Athelstan Primary School in Kingston upon Thames. The role is part-time, term time only, Monday to Thursday from 2.55pm to 6.00pm, starting September 2026.

You will assist in delivering activities, supervise snack time, and help maintain a safe, engaging after-school environment for children aged 4–11. We value enthusiasm for childcare, reliability, and good communication.

Qualifications

• Passion for working with children in childcare/early years or playwork.
• Energetic, fun, and engaging temperament.
• Reliable and able to communicate effectively with colleagues and children.
• Able to relate to and engage children aged 4–11 years.
• Opportunities to gain qualifications and grow will be available for candidates.
• Full training and inductions will be provided to all After School Club Assistants.

Responsibilities

• Assist the After School Club Manager in the safe, organised running of the club at King Athelstan Primary School in Kingston upon Thames KT1.
• Set up, organise, and deliver a range of activities; encourage children to participate.
• Assist in snack time preparation, serving, and tidying away.
• Be aware of and sensitive to children with additional needs (physical, behavioural, dietary).
• Develop strong relationships with children to maximise enjoyment and engagement.
• Understand Ofsted standards and KOOSA Kids policies, including safeguarding.
• Ensure activity areas are cleaned and tidied at day end.
