Job summary

Rolls-Royce is seeking a Business Specialist – Aerothermal in Bristol to influence strategy and lead capability projects in the defence aero-thermal domain. You will drive development of new capabilities and provide technical leadership across teams.

The role requires a professionally qualified engineer with a UK minimum BEng, chartered status, and deep understanding of fluid mechanics and heat transfer in gas turbine contexts. Collaboration and IP/export control awareness are essential.

Qualifications

• Professionally qualified engineer with UK minimum BEng or equivalent.
• Chartered status (CEng) or equivalent in specialist area.
• Member of a relevant professional body, aiming for Fellow status.
• Strong understanding of IP and export control requirements.
• Proven ability to influence key decisions in complex projects.
• Experience applying fluid mechanics and heat transfer in gas turbines.

Responsibilities

• Strategy development and execution within the specialist area.
• Lead capability projects: capture requirements, proposals, funding, approvals.
• Develop and apply new capabilities; lead related projects.
• Resolve technical, compliance and business problems using analysis.
• Collaborate with internal/external networks; support strategic relationships.
• Provide technical direction to peers and lead teams within the specialism.
• Define skills/knowledge and deliver training; mentor others.
