Job summary

GKN Aerospace Newport is seeking a Welder to join our manufacturing team on a full-time basis. You will work with titanium, aluminium and stainless steel to fabricate aircraft components, following SOPs and quality procedures.

The role offers shift patterns with a 25% premium and potential night shifts with up to 33% premium, plus a competitive starting salary and a strong pension scheme. We're looking for an apprentice with NVQ level 3 or equivalent, experience in manufacturing, and the ability

Qualifications

Recognised apprenticeship and NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
Manufacturing environment experience.
Ability to follow standard operating procedures.
Ability to work in small teams with Team Leaders.
Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

Work with materials (titanium, aluminium, stainless steel) to manufacture aircraft parts.
Ensure parts are produced on a right-first-time basis.
Use SAP system to clearance of work phases.
Highlight any non-conformance to the Process Team Leader.
Adhere to GKNAF Quality Procedures.
Comply with health & safety requirements under HASAWA 1974.
Maintain first-party inspection status when approved.
Maintain general housekeeping and follow risk assessments.
