Job summary

Leonardo offers a four‑year aerospace Transmissions Fitter apprenticeship in Yeovil, combining practical on‑the‑job learning with college study. You will rotate through the Transmissions Centre of Excellence, building and testing aircraft gearboxes and related systems, with progression into final placement areas based on performance and business needs.

You will start with an induction into Leonardo, followed by Yeovil College induction and increasing work placements as you advance through the

Qualifications

• 4 GCSEs at a minimum of a C/4 (including Maths, English and Science).
• Strong desire to learn and progress within an aerospace engineering environment.
• Ability to work across multiple placements and teams during the apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Undergo a 4-year aerospace transmission fitter apprenticeship program.
• Participate in placements across the Transmissions Centre of Excellence at Yeovil and Leonardo Helicopters.
• Complete induction and End Point Assessment in line with Apprenticeship Standards.
• Build, test and repair aircraft transmission parts and systems as directed.
