Job summary

Matchtech is assisting a specialist engineering organisation in the aerospace sector to recruit a permanent Technical Project Manager. You will lead multidisciplinary engineering projects from kick-off through design, manufacture, integration and acceptance, acting as the primary customer interface.

You will coordinate engineering, production, procurement, quality and support functions, develop integrated project plans, manage scope, cost, schedule and risk, and ensure governance reviews are

Qualifications

• Experience in project management within engineering, aerospace, defence or equipment delivery environments.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams within a matrix organisation.
• Strong customer-facing and stakeholder-management skills.
• Technical understanding of electrical, electronic, software-controlled or electromechanical systems.
• Knowledge of engineering lifecycles from requirements to acceptance.
• Experience managing scope, schedule, cost, risk and quality.
• Commercial awareness including change control and contract management.
• Strong organisational skills and problem-solving under pressure.
• Willingness to travel to project locations and hold a UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex aerospace engineering and test-system projects throughout the full delivery lifecycle.
• Act as the primary customer contact, managing communications, expectations, reviews, escalations and acceptance activities.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across engineering, production, procurement, quality, finance and support functions.
• Develop and maintain integrated project plans covering work breakdown structures, resources, schedules, milestones, risks and quality requirements.
• Manage project scope, costs, forecasts, risks, issues, changes, recovery activities and contractual milestones.
• Ensure projects progress through requirements, design, verification, validation and governance reviews.
• Support change control, commercial negotiations, claims management, bid preparation and proposal development.
• Coordinate subcontractors, international partners, installation, commissioning, factory acceptance testing and site acceptance testing.
