Job summary

Eaton's Aerospace division in Wimborne, Dorset is seeking a Test and Development Engineer to apply environmental and functional test expertise to the design, development and delivery of new aerospace products and technologies. You will work within an Integrated Product Team (IPT), performing verification activities and creating documentation to prove compliance with customer and internal requirements.

The role also involves coaching engineers and helping define test strategies and equipment

Qualifications

• Experience in a Systems Test or Verification Engineering role, preferably within Aerospace or Military Industry.
• Proven ability to plan, lead and execute projects and functional improvements.
• Familiarity with RTCA DO-160 and MIL-STD-810 standards.
• Experience with sensors, instrumentation and test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Apply environmental and functional test expertise to the design, development and delivery of new aerospace products, processes and technologies.
• Be part of an Integrated Product Team (IPT) and contribute to IPT performance.
• Use disciplined processes, practices and tools to meet project requirements and quality.
• Conduct verification activities on aerospace components and systems including Requirements Validation, Verification Strategy & Planning, Test, Analysis and Reporting.
• Create verification documentation to demonstrate compliance to customer and internal requirements.
• Define system and equipment level strategies and tests and understand how they link (Integration).
• Train and coach other engineers in Verification activities including test & analysis.
• Define processes, system specifications, input/output, integration requirements.
• Support generation of test Equipment, including defining requirements, sourcing, commissioning and usage of fixturing and electromechanical rigs.
• Support definition of new tools and processes to streamline test and analysis.
