Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior software engineer with extensive DO-178B/C experience to oversee lifecycle data, architecture, and documentation for certification in aerospace systems. The role requires collaboration with regulatory bodies and global teams to ensure compliance and timely delivery.

Ideal candidates will have 12+ years in software development life cycles, embedded software focus, and strong leadership in agile environments, with DO-178B/C, DO-330/331 knowledge and security clearance

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in engineering, CS, or related field.
Ability to obtain security clearance.
10+ years in RTCA DO-178B/C software considerations with emphasis on embedded software.
12+ years in software development life cycles and agile practices.
Experience with DO-330/DO-331 and software lifecycle data items.

Responsibilities

Review and approve suppliers’ software lifecycle data throughout software lifecycle processes; from planning, requirements, development/implementation, verification and certification phases.
Generate Software Components (PDIs), User Modifiable Software (UMS) and/or Field Loadable software in response to modifications requested at aircraft level in compliance with DO-178B/C.
Oversee and verify the compliance preparation and submission of comprehensive technical documentation required for certification.
Work collaboratively with regulatory representatives, Boeing EUMs suppliers and global Boeing sites to ensure systems and software designs comply with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
Monitor project progress and ensure engineering solutions are delivered on time and meet safety and certification milestones.
Lead activities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.
Lead development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics.
Participate in industry working groups to develop industry guidance and standards and author internal design practice documentation and standards.
