Job summary

DCS Recruitment in Greater Manchester is recruiting two Trainee Sheet Metal Workers to join a well-established aerospace manufacturing business. You will receive full training and mentoring, with the opportunity to progress to aerospace-standard sheet metal work.

Prior aerospace experience isn’t required; practical experience with thin aluminium or steel is preferred. This permanent, full-time, on-site role starts at £14.89 per hour, with structured development and a supportive team in a clean,

Qualifications

• Experience in general, commercial or manufacturing sheet metal.
• Practical experience marking out, bending, forming and drilling sheet metal.
• Experience with thin aluminium or steel (ideally under 2mm).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong practical, mechanical skills and attention to detail.
• Safety-focused approach and willingness to learn in aerospace manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacture and preparation of precision sheet metal components with structured training.
• Mark out sheet metal components accurately and use hand tools and measuring equipment.
• Bend, form and drill sheet metal as required (materials generally under 2mm).
• Read engineering drawings and check work against specifications.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organised workspace and follow 5S standards.
• Develop skills through mentoring and progress toward aerospace-standard work.
