Job summary

ALTEN is a global engineering and technology consultancy delivering cutting-edge solutions across aerospace, defence, automotive, and more. We seek a Quality and Supply Chain Engineer to support supplier quality, logistics performance, and operational excellence at our Broughton site.

The role focuses on driving non-conformance resolution, supplier audits, risk mitigation, and KPI monitoring within a complex manufacturing supply chain.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent military experience.
• Experience in aerospace, manufacturing, defence, automotive or similarly regulated sectors.
• Knowledge of quality management systems and industry quality standards.
• Familiarity with supplier performance management and development activities.
• Experience supporting logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations.
• Continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
• Experience leading corrective actions and improvement projects.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and support supplier quality and logistics performance to ensure compliance with contractual and operational requirements.
• Investigate quality issues and non-conformances, identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
• Conduct operational audits, supplier assessments, and surveillance activities to verify compliance and performance standards.
• Manage and track quality incidents, non-conformities, and improvement actions through to closure.
• Facilitate supplier performance reviews and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Analyse risks and implement mitigation plans to minimise disruptions.
• Monitor and report on quality and operational KPIs to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, Procurement, and Logistics teams to drive improvements.
• Support deployment of quality standards, procedures, and best practices across the organisation.
• Promote awareness of quality requirements and operational excellence within supplier and internal teams.
• Capture and share lessons learned and improvement opportunities across the business.
