Job summary

Safran is seeking a Quality Engineer to assure product quality across the life cycle within our aerospace manufacturing environment in Wales. You will ensure processes and procedures meet customer specifications and quality standards, and support production throughput to deliver on time.

Key duties include leading QA activities, signatory for product release (EASA/CAA Form 1), audits, continuous improvement, and coaching teams on quality requirements across internal design and external suppliers.

Qualifications

  • HNC/HND or equivalent in engineering.
  • Experience with QA tools: APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, Control Plans, FMEA, Poke Yoke and RCCA.
  • Line management experience and 8D report writing.
  • Strong aerospace quality background and knowledge of regulatory standards.
  • Analytical thinker with good interpersonal and stakeholder skills.

Responsibilities

  • Define quality objectives with operations and monitor action plans.
  • Conduct audits and on-the-job training per procedures and regulations.
  • Support validation processes and in-production quality aspects.
  • Ensure products follow manufacturing/repair/validation processes before release.
  • Manage quality of outsourced production or MRO services.
  • Act as a point of contact for internal/external customers and regulatory authorities.
  • Undertake QRQC (8D) as required to support throughput.
  • Provide coaching on in-production quality requirements.
