Job summary

Safran Helicopter Engines UK is seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our New Production team in Fareham. The role involves precision lapping on aerospace components, following OEM manuals, engineering specifications and work instructions.

You will operate single- and double-sided lapping machines, measure components with precision equipment, and help maintain quality, safety, and on-time delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in precision on a milling, CNC, grinding machine or similar
• Experience measuring and inspecting components using precision measuring equipment
• Ability to interpret engineering specifications and follow detailed work instructions
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements within a manufacturing environment
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team while maintaining productivity targets

Responsibilities

• Operate single-sided and double-sided lapping machines in line with work instructions and OEM standards.
• Measure and inspect components to ensure they meet specification and quality requirements.
• Maintain production targets for quality, utilisation, and on-time delivery.
• Support manufacturing activities across production areas as required.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
• Complete production documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation.
• Comply with all Health, Safety, Environmental, and company procedures.
• Demonstrate company values and contribute positively to team objectives.
