Job summary

Manpower, Inc. is recruiting for an Assembly Mechanic Level 3 in Christchurch. The ideal candidate has a strong background in precision mechanical assembly and disassembly, preferably in aerospace, with knowledge of pneumatic pressure testing.

The role involves assembling, maintaining and testing mechanical equipment to exacting standards, reading engineering drawings, and ensuring safety and quality. Apprenticeship or formal engineering qualification is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; apprenticeship or NVQ in mechanical engineering is advantageous.
• Good understanding of mechanical assembly concepts, practices and procedures.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out precision mechanical assembly and disassembly of components and sub-assemblies.
• Assemble, maintain, inspect, and test mechanical equipment and machinery to engineering specifications.
• Perform fault finding and identify components needing repair or replacement.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and to quality standards.
