Job summary

Manpower UK in Christchurch is seeking an Assembly Mechanic Level 3 with a strong background in precision mechanical assembly and disassembly, ideally from aerospace or high-precision manufacturing. The role involves assembling, maintaining and testing mechanical equipment to exacting standards.

You will read engineering drawings, use a range of hand tools and measuring equipment, and work as part of a team in a safety-conscious production environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in precision mechanical assembly and disassembly.
• Experience in engineering, manufacturing or aerospace environments is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Experience using hand tools, measuring equipment and assembly techniques.
• Ability to work as part of a team following procedures and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Carry out precision mechanical assembly and disassembly of components and sub-assemblies.
• Assemble, maintain, inspect, and test mechanical equipment in line with specifications.
• Perform fault finding and identify components for repair or replacement.
• Conduct mechanical testing and support QA processes.
• Source or order replacement parts as required.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Ensure work is completed safely and to industry standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized working environment.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within production.
