Job summary

Safran Gloucester is seeking skilled Platers to join the Surface Finishes team. You will perform cadmium, chrome, nickel, and zinc/nickel plating, with related oven work and passivation.

Attention to precision and safety is essential, as is reading technical drawings and using micrometres and calipers. Applicants should have a processing apprenticeship or relevant plating experience, strong problem-solving abilities, and good teamwork.

Qualifications

• Processing apprenticeship or experience in chrome, cadmium, nickel and zinc/nickel.
• Competent with measuring equipment and able to read technical drawings.
• Excellent communication and team working ethos.
• Self-managed with good problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to safety and housekeeping.

Responsibilities

• Process components through plating operations such as cadmium, chrome, nickel, and zinc/nickel.
• Perform oven work and cadmium passivation.
• Measure components before and after plating using micrometres, callipers, and permascopes.
• Manage chemical additions to processing vats and ensure specifications.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and maintain safety standards.
