Job summary

Omega Resource in Gloucestershire seeks a Buyer/Planner to manage end-to-end procurement, production scheduling and inventory control across two sites. You will analyze forecasts, establish material demand, and own the weekly production plan to ensure on-time delivery for a growing aerospace/defence-related operation.

The role requires strong ERP/MRP experience, solid planning ability, and the ability to coordinate with engineers and suppliers.

Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing environments.
  • Strong ERP/MRP systems usage.
  • Solid production planning capability.
  • Strong transactional purchasing capability.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Full UK Driving licence (multi-site cover)

Responsibilities

  • Analyse forecasts and production requirements.
  • Establish material demand and capacity needs.
  • Own the production schedule for 2 sites.
  • Monitor capacity in MRP.
  • Issue weekly Work to List to Production.
  • Generate Works Orders from MRP and optimise production methods.
  • Raise material purchase orders in ERP/MRP.
  • Review status of open purchase orders.
  • Assess best cost, quality, quantity, delivery and service.
  • Support external subcontractors and suppliers on KPIs.
  • Work with Engineering on procurement for NPI.
  • Monitor inventory to maintain efficiency.
  • Maintain stock levels on purchased components.
