Job summary

Airbus Operations Limited in Filton, Bristol, offers a 12.5-month internship starting 16 August 2027 with hybrid working options depending on the role. The position is open to undergraduates, with a CV and Cover Letter required, and a BPSS/UK clearances process.

The UK Materials and Processes team focuses on robust materials, testing, and processes for Airbus aircraft, with opportunities to join multiple technology groups and contribute to ongoing R&D activities.

Qualifications

• Open to Undergraduates for the whole duration of the placement.
• Please inform your graduation date on your application.
• Your CV should include a Cover Letter outlining your motivation and suitability for the role.
• Successful candidates study towards an Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Chemical) or Science (Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science) degree.
• You have an interest or enthusiasm for aircraft/aerospace, with excellent communication skills.
• You are enthusiastic about working in a technical team environment.

Responsibilities

• Work with suppliers worldwide.
• Test / analyse materials and components, using state of the art equipment within the Aerospace Research & Test Facility.
• Be responsible for running qualification projects.
• Determine the testing required.
• Run analysis of the results to ensure that suppliers provide capable products.
• Have opportunities to support research activities on new materials or processes.
• When things do not perform as expected, you will apply your technical knowledge to engineer a solution.
