Job summary

Safran Actuation Systems UK in Wolverhampton is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop, industrialise and optimise manufacturing processes in the Prismatic machining module. You will provide day‑to‑day technical support to Operations, help solve process issues and ensure documentation and tooling enable safe, repeatable production.

This role drives continuous improvement, supports manufacturing readiness for new equipment, and partners with Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain to ensure

Qualifications

• Operating within a highly regulated industry.
• Working knowledge of engineering drawings and understanding of GD&T.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proficiency in CAD, CAM, and process simulation tools (Siemens NX & Vericut).
• Experience of working within a complex and dynamic component manufacturing engineering environment with NPI and/or continuous improvement experience preferred.
• Experience of deploying APQP standards and tools.

Responsibilities

• Support ongoing production.
• Be the technical focal point (Manufacturing) for Operations, resolving process issues, non conformances, and bottlenecks.
• Create and maintain process documentation (work instructions, routings, PFMEAs, control plans, factory layout drawings etc).
• Updating manufacturing instruction to reflect changes.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions using structured problem solving methodologies.
• Identify opportunities to eliminate waste and improve quality using Lean and Six Sigma tools.
