Job summary

GE Aerospace (Dowty Propellers) in Brockworth, Gloucestershire, offers an apprenticeship for aspiring Manufacturing Engineers. You will rotate across production, quality, design, materials and processes, and tooling to learn how to translate engineering intent into manufacturable products.

The program includes formal EPA and on‑site work two days weekly at UWE and time in the workplace. You will join a cross-functional team focused on SQDC performance, PFMEAs, and continuous improvement using

Qualifications

Minimum academic requirements including 3 A-Levels at BBC or better and engineering-related qualifications.
Proven STEM background with Mathematics content in qualifications.

Responsibilities

Write and improve manufacturing work instructions aligned with technical specs.
Generate machine code for CNC centres and metrology tools.
Present data-driven solutions to manufacturing problems using Lean and problem-solving methods.
Create and develop production techniques from raw materials to finished product with SQDC at core.
Suggest and develop new technology for fixtures, tooling and equipment.
Support year-on-year improvements in Throughput, Yield, Cycle Time and Defects-Per-Unit.
Create PFMEAs for current and future production processes to support APQP.
