Job summary

Safran Landing Systems in Gloucester is offering a Manufacturing Engineering Apprentice position as a Level 3 Apprenticeship starting September 2027. The three-year programme focuses on developing hands-on manufacturing engineering skills, supporting the enhancement of processes and the introduction of new technologies.

You will work with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams to solve challenges, improve efficiency and gain exposure to a wide range of manufacturing activities.

Qualifications

• Five GCSEs at grades 9-5 or A-C, including English, Maths and Science.
• Genuine interest in engineering, manufacturing and technology.
• Willingness to learn and complete both practical and academic aspects of the apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Support Manufacturing Engineers with development and improvement of manufacturing processes.
• Assist with creation and maintenance of manufacturing documentation and work instructions.
• Understand engineering drawings, specifications, materials and processes.
• Support CNC programming, tooling and fixture development activities.
• Investigate manufacturing challenges and identify practical solutions.
• Support continuous improvement to improve quality, efficiency and delivery.
• Work with Production and Quality teams to resolve issues.
• Assist with introduction and industrialisation of new products and processes.
• Collect and analyse manufacturing data to support decisions.
